Hello, my name is Melanie Molin. I am from Pukatawagan, and I am grateful for the traditional and cultural teachings from elders and parents. I am a Cree woman. I am currently finishing my B.A/B.Ed. course out of Brandon University.
My Cree name is flying eagle spirit women. I am presently working out of UCN as a Cree Instructor, and this opportunity came knocking and I took the challenge. I am glad that I am able to give back the teachings given to me to the students.
I was born in the bush; my grandmother was the midwife.I also say, my grandmother buried my placenta on Mother Earth, and when my umbilical cord was disconnected from my body, I often say I am still looking for my belly button. I love being in the bush,
I harvest every summer, and I am connected to Mother Earth where I find peace, rejuvenation, and our Cree language comes from.
